Surrey County Council’s ambitious programme, “Libraries for Life”, aims to increase book issues and library use throughout the county.
Brief
The library is housed off the high street and is laid over 2 floors. Due to this close proximity to Runnymead we created a bespoke children’s area with castle theme.
Solution
The challenges that were presented by Egham Library were tailor-made for our flexible approach to problem-solving. Working closely with the client, we designed a contemporary feel to the main Library space while letting imaginations run wild to create a themed children’s area.
Outcome
The Library has been well received by the staff and public, The impact of the themed children’s department was maximised by using large wall graphics and lighting to some of the bookcases to emphasise the particular details.
